IIT- JEE & The Undergraduate Programe :
The IIT-JEE is the Joint Entrance Examination conducted by the IITs for the admission in the seven IITs.
The standard of excellence maintained by these institutes are recognized and respected world over. Ranked amongst the top institutes of the word, the degree awarded by the Indian Institute of Technology is at par with that awarded by the University in the world, Every year the IITs conducts Joint Entrance Examination to select candidates for the four year B.Tech., B.Pharm., Five year B.Arch., M.Tech., and M.Sc. courses offered at campuses located in central Delhi , Guwahati , Kanpur, Kharagpur, Mumbai and Roorkee. The IT-BHU Varansi and ISM Dhanbad also select students on the basis of JEE.

No.of Seats :
App. 4000 seats are available in 7 IITs for 4 year B.Tech. and 5 year integrated M.Tech/M.Sc programmesss.
Eligibility :
The students who have passed 10 + 2 or equivalent examination or a pass in the three/four year diploma recognized by AICTE by a state board of Technical Education. The candidate appearing in any of these examination is also eligible to apply.
Age Limit :
Candidates appearing in JEE should not be completing 25 year on 30th September of the year in which he/she actually appears for the JEE.
Test Centres : Screening : IIT-JEE screening is conducted at 115+ centres across the nation . In Gujarat , It is conducted in Ahmedabad, Baroda, Rajkot and Surat.
Mains : IIT-JEE Main examination is conducted at almost 35 centresss across the nations .In Gujarat , It is conducted at Ahmedabad.
Notification :
Notification for IIT-JEE test appears usually in the month of December. Availability of application appears in details in the same.

About The Tests :
JEE is conducted annually in two stages (1) Screening (2)Mains
The screening test is of 3 hours duration, in physics, chemistry and mathematics with equal weightage in all the three subject. Test is pure objective in nature. For each correct response students gets 3 marks and for each incorrect response one mark is deducted. No penalty for unattempted questions. Main examination have three separate papers(non objective) in physics, chemistry and mathematics, each of two hour duration. The students who have qualified in Screening are only eligible for Main. All the papers are kept on the same day. In both the Screening and the Mains, Calculators, Log tables are not allowed.

The Language of Test :
The screening test is conducted in English and in Hindi. The option has to be exercised at the time of filling the application form. For the Main examination, students have choice of selecting one of the following language. Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Tamil & Telugu. Option has to be exercise at the time of filling the application form.

Results :
Based on the performance in individual subject as well as aggregate in the Main examination, final merit list is prepared. The result gets out by middle of June. It is also made available on website.

Aptitude Test for B.Arch and B.Des. :
Candidates called for counseling and desirous of joining the B.Arch and B.Des. courses have to qualify in an aptitude test conducted by respective Institutes.

Syllabus :
Syllabus of IIT-JEE is from both 11th and 12th standard roughly divided equally in both the standards.

It is preparation time for those who are planning to sit for entrance tests in India. Many of you may be attending coaching classes or have started there exam preparation quite some time back. But tell me frankly – How many of you have a Study Plan ?

If you don’t , here are a few tips as to how one can go about it as tt is important to have a good study plan. It helps you to keep track of the syllabus you need to cover in a ranged time span.

Create a Study Plan

A study plan that you develop yourself or center around yourself will go a long way toward helping you reach your goal. Develop a realistic plan that's established according to your needs and schedule, and supports the way you learn. This allows you to stick to your study plan and learn at your own pace, which contributes to the learning process. As the exam nears, you will need to create a plan to help you study effectively and minimize stress. The first step is to figure out how much time and effort you must dedicate to studying for the exam by asking the following questions:

* How much material do you need to cover?
* How difficult is the material?
* How much time is available?
* Do you have any other priorities during the study period?
* What is the format of the exam?
* How important is the exam?
* What is your performance target for the exam?

To prepare the study plan, map out all of the material that has to be covered and make a schedule showing what, when and how much you will study each day. If you have kept up with the course work, studying will involve revision of the material that you have already covered. If you are behind in the course, you will have to finish the readings and other uncompleted work before starting the revision (if there isn't enough time to go over everything, you must decide what is most important for the exam).
Here are some tips to follow in creating your study plan:

* budget your time realistically;
* allocate the study time into several manageable study sessions;
* divide the course material into small segments and assign them to the study sessions;
* set clear and specific goals for the study sessions;
* prioritize to ensure that material weighted more heavily in the exam gets sufficient study time;
* take into account your familiarity with the material and the difficulty level;
* don't make the study sessions too long;
* No noise. A noisy area can increase stress while studying. Avoid studying with the television or radio on. Pick a quiet place like your local library to study.
* study sessions should have enough variety in terms of topics and activities to prevent boredom and loss of effectiveness;
* Assess yourself. Take diagnostic or practice tests. Analyze the result. Mark the areas you could consider your weak areas. Concentrate on these areas when you begin studying.
* avoid cramming before the exam; and
* don't forget to include regular breaks.

So, understand why the Entrance Test (you are sitting for) is important to you. When preparing for the Exams, prepare through small, well-planned steps. Accomplish each step; build upon them. Then use these accomplishments as additional benefits and motivators to move you closer to the final achievement

Tips while preparations

* Study in small groups

o Make sure your study group contains only students who are serious about studying. At least some of them should be at your level of ability or better.
o Go over as many different problems as you can (like old homework problems, unassigned problems in the course text, and problems on old exams). Set up the solutions, but don't crunch numbers. Don't leave a problem until you're convinced you could do it by yourself.
o Brainstorm possible things you could be asked and answers you might give.
o Leave the beer in the refrigerator until you're done studying.

* Make up a one-page summary sheet of the key ideas, equations, procedures, etc., that you might need to know on the test. If the test is closed-book, know what's on the sheet. If it's open-book, bring the sheet with you.

* Don't stay up all night studying. Try to get a reasonable amount of sleep the night before the exam. If that's not possible, try to get a nap before the exam, or at least a short rest.

* Set up a backup system for your alarm clock. Set a second alarm, or arrange for a wake-up call from a friend.

* Arrange for backup transportation to campus.

* Bring everything you need to the exam:

o textbook/lecture notes if the exam is open book
o paper and several pencils with erasers
o calculator with extra batteries
o allowed handbooks and tables (such as steam tables)
o allowed class handouts
o summary sheet (if allowed)

Set a goal and make a move towards IIT

As great saying goes like this:-
"If you have trouble achieving the big goals, then break them down into smaller, more manageable goals. If you have trouble getting to work on the small goals, remind yourself of the bigger goals and purposes to which they lead."

The big goals are what will drive you, motivate you, and compel you to go forward. The smaller goals are what will actually move you steadily there.

When you have a big reason to take a small step, you're much more likely to find a way to take that step no matter what. String those small steps together and they'll add up to the big, important achievements you so earnestly desire.

Any accomplishment can be broken down into steps so small as to seem trivial. But put them all together, and the results are anything but trivial.

Keep putting one foot in front of another, and you can walk a thousand miles or even more, as long as you're motivated enough to keep going. Stay focused on those big goals, while persistently working through the small, day-to-day goals, and anything is within your reach.

Yes I do think that it is the right time to decide that whether I am fully prepared and dedicated towards IIT JEE or should I devote my time to get a better rank in AIEEE JEE.
We should not follow the public every time yes it is the right time for our decision, and if we will make right decision at right time I do think we will find ourself at a better place rather landing in a college where we never want to be up to.

Am I missing

The way students are now preparing for the exams sometimes I do seriously feel "Am i missing". Where the life is going do I really need to run after such a long list of study materials? Do I really need to worry about those very difficult problems? Do I really need to miss my school just to cope up with the coaching classes?
The answer is there somewhere in ourself only.
It is not any movie making decision where you have to choose between Aishwarya Rai and Sonali Bendre.
We just need to peep inside and take that answer out.We ourself can help us and better we will be the better guidance we will get.
